F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked Questions What engines are suitable for this airplane? Any good .46 2 stroke or .72 4 stroke engine is recommended. What type of servos are recommended for this airplane? A standard size servo in the 38-50 oz range is recommended, the use of 6V battery packs help to gain a little torque in the standard size servos. Which receiver size can be used in this airplane? We use normal sized receivers (the ones that normally come with your transmitter) with great success. If you want to save some weight you can use the half size mini receivers like the Hitec Electron 6 which is still full range and provides some weight savings. 2.4Ghz full range receivers are also compatible. Further weight savings can be obtained through the use of 2S lipos equipped with voltage regulators to power the receiver. Do not use parkflyer receivers with this model. Where do you install the Receiver and Battery? The battery can be installed in the center of the fuselage opening while the receiver installed inside the wings. Proper CG is obtained by moving the battery and receiver for and aft. As internal combustion engines generate a lot of vibrations, we recommend wrapping the receiver and battery with a layer of foam padding. The Bad Boy with some modifications can be converted to electric by the use of an A50 class motor. Please pay careful attention to EP gear selection to ensure optimum performance is acheievd. Which glue should be used for the assembly of the airplane? Epoxy is recommended for gluing the Horizontal and Vertical stabs while thin CA is used for the hinges. Can the extension leads be routed through the inside of the fuse? Yes, in fact the Bad Boy’s fuselage comes with draw strings already pre-installed at the factory. All that is required is to attach your servo extension cables to the drawstring and carefully pull them through. Please ensure you have the servo extension cable connectors adequately secured to ensure they don’t come loose in flight. Masking tape or plastic servo connector keepers are recommended. Is it possible to take the wings off the airplane for transport, and if so how complicated it is? The Badboy V2 features a 2 piece wing that allows easy disassembly of the airplane. All you need is to undo 3 bolts and disconnecting the aileron servos and switch. This makes the plane very easy to transport and store. Can I use the bad Boy to learn to 3D? Yes, the Bad Boy is designed for 3D and it is an excellent 3D glow training platform. I can now land, take off and fly circuits. Is it possible for a beginner like me to fly the Bad Boy? Yes, the Bad Boy on low rates and coupled with slow flight capabilities makes this possible in a similar fashion to our EP Electric shock and Addiction. Can I buy spare parts when I break something?
